DATES:   September 30 – October 1, 2017

Location:   Ponoka Ag Event Center, Ponoka, AB

Directions:   From Highway 2, take Highway 53 East into Ponoka. At Highway 2A (lights) turn South, Arena is large tin building on the East side of the Road. Drive way is South of the arena. (last building leaving town)

Other Events:   We are sharing this facility with a Chore Horse Challenge and Feed Team Competition all weekend. The arena will be divided into 2 and we will be showing at the same time. If you would like more information or to enter this competition please contact Nathan Stone 780-312-4420 flyingnsc@yahoo.ca.  Entries are TBA plus stabling.

Barns/Stalling:   There are 200 plus box stalls in an indoor heated building. All the Draft horses will be blocked together in the same area for stalls.

  • Cost: $40 for one night, $60 for 2 nights.  This includes 3 bags of shavings. More shavings are available at a cost of $7.00/bag. You are more than welcome to bring your own bedding (shavings or straw)

The WR Futurity is going to try to subsidize the stalling cost as we did last year. The cost will likely be $20 for 1 day, $30 for 2 day stalling. This is a tentative cost depending upon sponsorship.

There is plenty of room inside the barn for the carts to be kept indoors.

Tack Stall:   The Futurity will pay for tack stalls.  Please share your tack stalls with others.

Wash Racks:   There are wash racks available inside the barn area.

Camping:   Ponoka has a campsite on location with power hookups at $25/night.  Please call Julie 403-506-1722 or email sanlan@platinum.ca to book your camping site.

You are more than welcome to camp in the parking lot area at no charge with no services. If you are plugged in you will be charged.

Parking:   There is ample parking available for your trucks and trailers on the south side of the arena by the road. Please do not block the emergency exit doors. You may pull up to the doors to unload your trailer.

Showers:   There are showers in the main arena in the washrooms for your use.

Concession: There is a full hot concession available in the front of the main arena.  They also have breakfast and will be open by 7:30 each morning.

Supper/social:   Saturday night 7 pm.  Menu TBA
