2017 WILD ROSE DRAFT HORSE SALE

Once again a bumper crowd attended the 2017 Wild Rose Draft Horse Sale, held May 5th & 6th at the Cow Palace, Olds, Alberta. While some of the tack, saddles, harness and horse drawn equipment sold for bargain prices, well broke, matched teams sold from $4,000 to a sale high of $9,2000.

Joker, a 6 year-old Belgian gelding consigned by Lindsay Blackburn of Salmon Arm, British Columbia, was the high priced horse. Liz Monaghan of Victoria, British Columbia, brought the auctioneer’s hammer down when she placed a bid of $6,100 on this big, upstanding hitch horse.

Mac and Luke won a last bid of $9,200. This matched team of black Percheron geldings was exceptionally well broke. An honest pair of 10 year-olds, they have done it all – wagon rides, parades and chores about the farm. Broke. mannered and quiet, Don Binns of Grand Prairie, Alberta, consigned this team.
